The train that already exists
ScotRail runs direct from Glasgow Central to Shawlands on the Cathcart Circle. The fastest journeys are about 10 minutes and the average is a little longer, so allow 10 to 15. Shawlands station is then about a 10 minute walk to 44 Kilmarnock Road.
The other direct option is Crossmyloof, on the East Kilbride and Barrhead trains out of Central. That walk is under 10 minutes. Either station beats changing trains. Buses also run along Kilmarnock Road and Pollokshaws Road if you'd rather stay on the street. Get off near Shawlands Cross. We don't pin a route number to the website.
What to buy after work
A city-centre detour wants a small bag. Chops, mince for a bolognese, or a couple of chicken thighs. Not a whole lamb at half past five on a busy train. If the weekend is the lamb, ask ahead and collect it on Saturday, when you can look at the meat instead of the departure board.
You can still pick up coriander and a lemon. They live by the door. The counter is at the back.
What this shop is not
It isn't a stall in Central station, and it isn't a delivery app. You get off the train, you walk, you talk to a person, you carry dinner home. That's the entire system.
From town
Is there a direct train from Glasgow Central?
Yes. ScotRail to Shawlands on the Cathcart Circle, about 10 to 15 minutes, then about a 10 minute walk. Or Crossmyloof, under 10 minutes on foot.
Can I come straight from work?
Yes, for a small shop. Leave the whole lamb for a day when you aren't in a rush.
Do you deliver to the city centre?
No.
We're at 44 Kilmarnock Road, Shawlands, Glasgow G41 3NH. Opening hours and the map.
