Beef mince, made while you wait

Halal beef mince in Glasgow, for the dinners this city actually cooks: mince and tatties, bolognese, burgers, and a chapli kebab that stays juicy. We mince it at the counter in Shawlands, so you can say how much fat you want.

Fat, said out loud

For burgers, chapli and seekh, ask for mince with about 20% fat. Very lean mince makes a dry, crumbly burger, and nobody wants that at a BBQ. For mince and tatties, bolognese or keema, leaner is fine: you can spoon off any extra after it browns.

The same day

Mince has more surface than a joint, so it doesn't sit around. Cook it within a day or two, or freeze it flat in a bag the day you buy it. Burgers and kebabs need to be cooked right through, no pink in the middle.

From the counterFreeze it flat, pressed thin. It defrosts in a couple of hours and stacks in the freezer like books.
