Getting here from Strathbungo

Walk south down Pollokshaws Road to Shawlands Cross, where Kilmarnock Road starts, and we're a little way along it at number 44, close to the Shawlands Arcade. It's an easy walk, so most people from Strathbungo come on foot.

If you'd rather take the train, Shawlands, Crossmyloof and Pollokshaws East stations are all close to the shop.

Small amounts, cut while you wait

Because we cut to order, you don't have to buy a family pack. Ask for two chicken thighs, a few lamb chops or 250g of mince and we'll weigh out just that. Fresh mince is made at the counter, so tell us if you want it lean or with a bit more fat for burgers.

Picking up the rest of dinner is easy too: fresh coriander, mint, chillies, ginger and garlic every day, and seasonal fruit and veg out front.

Quick dinners from the counter

Cook something tonight

• Chicken karahi Chicken cooked fast in a karahi with tomatoes, green chillies, ginger and black pepper. On the table in about 45 minutes.
• Keema matar Lamb mince and peas cooked with onion, tomato and warm spices. Ready in 45 minutes and good with roti, rice or paratha.
• Masala lamb chops Lamb chops in a tangy yoghurt and spice marinade, grilled hot until charred at the edges and juicy inside.
• Chicken fajitas Strips of spiced chicken sizzled with peppers and onions, wrapped in warm tortillas with salsa and soured cream. On the table in 30 minutes.
