A halal butcher near Langside and Battlefield

Along Langside Avenue from Battlefield to Shawlands, for halal roasting joints, stewing meat and fresh mince cut the way you cook it.

Getting here from Langside and Battlefield

Langside Avenue runs along the south side of Queen's Park from Battlefield to Shawlands Cross. At the Cross, turn onto Kilmarnock Road and we're at number 44, near the Shawlands Arcade. It's a pleasant walk, or a short bus ride along the same roads.

By train, Langside station is on the same line as Pollokshaws East and Shawlands, both close to the shop.

The Sunday roast and slow cooking

A whole or half leg of lamb, a lamb shoulder for slow roasting, a whole chicken, or stewing beef in big chunks for a pie or a stew. Tell us how many you're feeding and we'll suggest a size. Our roasting times calculator does the maths for the oven.

Pick up onions, potatoes and fresh veg for roasting on the way out, and mint sauce or apple sauce from the shelves.

Recipes to try

Roast leg of lamb, slow-roast lamb shoulder, steak pie, Scotch broth and lamb hotpot. Each one says which cut to ask for.
